Gowinta Farm Tours

You can experience a strawberry farm in full production between May – Oct.

Tours start off at the Cafe where you learn about the history of Gowinta Farms. You will then be taken out to the fields to view the fruit being harvested, and then back to the packing shed to the viewing platform to watch the fruit being packed ready for markets. The viewing room has a DVD of footage taken of the farm from past to present and a range of photographs of the changes the farm has endured in recent years. Tours run from May to October each year.

Gowinta Farms was established in 1948, more than 60 years and four generations later, it has evolved into one of the Coasts premier farming enterprises.

Gowinta Farms employs over 250 people seasonally with many of the seasonal staff residing at Gowinta Farms private 56 site Caravan Park complete with full amenities.

Annually we grow over 2 million strawberry plants to supply major supermarket chains throughout Australia and New Zealand, 3000+ tonnes of pineapples for Golden Circle’s cannery and the fresh fruit market, greenhouses full of cucumbers, vine ripened tomatoe’s and over 10,000 lychee trees.

Gowinta Farms Transport department freights its own and other local farmers produce to Brisbane’s Rocklea Markets daily, which is then handled by Australia’s largest interstate carriers to destinations all over Australia.

Better still, you can purchase our fresh grown produce from our atmosphere controlled fruit shop 7 days a week.
