The breathtaking peaks of the Glass House Mountains rise in dramatic fashion as you arrive in the area. Explore the mountains via the lookouts, walking trails, and scenic drives.
The first thing to do when visiting this area is to drop into the Glass House Mountains Interpretive Centre located within the Visitor Information Centre at the township of Glass House Mountains. Here you will find touch screen computer presentations that vividly explore the local history, attractions and natural beauty of this stunning region and help plan the perfect itinerary.
Falcon's View offers a panoramic viewing experience of the Glass House Mountains from five lookouts using trackball technology. The visual feast on the super wide screen allows visitors to truly appreciate the lure of this majestic and inspiring region. At the Explore Kiosk simply point and click your way through tourist drives, walks, climbs, attractions and tours to do during your visit.
Other exhibitions explain more about the diverse plants and animals that are found in the region, and include images and stories of the early pioneers and explorers. There's even a kids'corner with an entertaining wall mounted jig saw puzzle of ancient animals that once roamed the Sunshine Coast and a visual display of the Birth of a Mountain.
Visitor Information Centre staff and volunteers are always on hand to provide further information and a free booking service for accommodation, tours and activities. Browse amongst the shelves for local artworks and produce. The Centre has significant landscaped space outdoors, a popular barbecue/picnic facility and children's playground.
