The Sunshine Coast Daily Sunshine Coast Cup is being held on Friday night 28th January 2011.

Come and enjoy a great night out at this year's $100,000 Sunshine Coast Daily Sunshine Coast Cup where the Sunshine Coast Turf Club will put on a great night of racing for the whole family.

The Sunshine Coast Daily $100,000 Sunshine Coast Cup is the highlight of the Sunshine Coast Turf Club's summer calendar. It attracts horses from all over Australia and the nation's top jockeys.

The 2011 Cup will be run at approx. 8.00pm on Friday 28th January. The gates at Corbould Park open at 5.00pm with the first race to be run at approximately 6.00pm.

The Listed $100,000 Sunshine Coast Daily Sunshine Coast Cup is the feature race of the night. This meeting will also feature the $160,000 QTIS 600 two-year-old Plate, plus a $25,000 Class 3 Handicap with the remaining four races on the programme carrying $15,000 prizemoney. This meeting will coincide with the first feature of the Melbourne Autumn Carnival with the running of the Group 2 $200,000 Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley.

The Sunshine Coast Daily is the naming rights sponsor and became the Sunshine Coast Cup's major sponsor in 2008. The Race first ran back in 2001.

Over the years, it has developed into the major race meeting of the year and the Cup now has listed status.

Prior winners have heralded from local and interstate. Being:

2001 – Pleasure Giver, trained by John Morish of Sydney, ridden by Glen Colless.

2002 – Ombra Della Sera won which was locally trained by Mick Mair and ridden by Ken Pope.

2003 – Baal Yabba also another locally trained, this time by Trevor Miller and ridden by Ken Pope.

2004 & 2005 was a double for Consular, trained by Bill Baker at Eagle Farm. Jockeys were Brad Stewart and Steven Arnold respectively.

2006 – Show Biz Kid, trained by Ron MacRae from Toowoomba and ridden by Scott Galloway.

2007 – Mitanni, trained by John Wallace of the Gold Coast and ridden by Shane Scriven.

2008 – Frisco’s Vision trained by Brett Bellamy of Coffs Harbour and ridden by Jim Byrne.

2009 – Black Piranha trained by Con Karakatsanis of Sydney and ridden by Tye Angland

2010 – Barlinnie trained by Trevor Bailey of the Sunshine Coast and ridden by Glen Colless
