Sleeping Beauty

Sat 8 Jan - Sun 23 Jan 2011

Sleeping Beauty will be performed in Caloundra throughout January at the Caloundra Choral hall in Piringa St Wurtulla. Experienced performer, choreographer and director Jennifer Rousset brings yet another vibrant, fastpaced and humorous show to give local families a chance to have fun together without the use of a remote control or the need to spend absurd amounts of money.

Sleeping Beauty pricks her finger on a spinning wheel on her 18th birthday, as a vengeful spell from the evil fairy is executed, and falls into a 100 year sleep. In true pantomime style good prevails over evil and with the help of handsome Prince Michael of Moffat beach, the beautiful lilac fairy, and the dancing toys, the princess awakens and finds true love, while the black fairy is heroically defeated in an action packed sword fight. And of course they all live happily ever after, but not before a royal wedding takes place and a parade in the gardens with photo opportunities for all the kids with their favourite characters.

Sleeping beauty is a delightful and humorous show with plenty of action and lots of laughs along the way for children of all ages. Adults will also find some of the humour and songs very entertaining.
